EME Macro/Strategy: Year Ahead 2020 – follow the money

The US and Europe have averted the risk of recession. This is what transpires from the emerging signs of a stabilisation in the business surveys, and the past and future effects of a combined pledge of EUR 2trn of monetary stimulus announced by the Fed and the ECB. Geopolitical risks ahead appear less acute than in the past two years, as the US and China are seemingly close to a deal and the risk of an abrupt exit of the UK from the EU has reduced dramatically, given how the UK electoral race is unfolding.
