4Q16 results – P&L mixed, dividend positive

Moneta Money Bank has reported net profit of CZK 867m for 4Q, broadly in line with our estimate and above the consensus forecast of CZK 775m. The beat is due mainly to higher trading income and a lower tax rate. Core operating income (NII and fees) came in softer than both our estimates and the consensus due to continued yield pressure. On the positive side, the higher capital ratio (CET1 ratio of 20.5%) and strong dividend proposal (DPS of CZK 9.8, implying a yield of 11.4%) should please the market, in our view.
