Orange Polska: Convergence leader in a consolidating market (upgraded to BUY)

We have upgraded our rating on Orange Polska (OPL) from Hold to BUY, and raised our 12-month price target (PT) from PLN 5.9 to PLN 6.0, implying 20% upside potential. OPL reported the best EBITDA trend among the Polish telcos in 1Q18, while its share price has dropped by c.7% since the reporting day (25 April 2018). We see Cyfrowy's M&A activity (Netia, ESN) and the possible creation of a new convergent player (as Liberty sells its European assets) as the main triggers for these drops. However, we believe that, in terms of convergence, OPL is the best-positioned player in the market, with the broadest network of high-quality fixed-line broadband; therefore, if this is the most appropriate strategy in the market, we see OPL as the best pick.
