WOOD Flash - EME Strategy: Poland - ECP bill draft passed by Sejm

On 4 October, the lower chamber of the Polish parliament (the Sejm) passed the Employee Capital Programmes (ECP) bill. According to the government’s estimates, c.8.6m employees could join the scheme, which should generate annual fund flows of c.PLN 15-33bn once the ECPs become fully operational. The programme is due to be introduced on 1 January 2019E, with a 6-month vacatio legis, implying the launch of the reform from 1 July 2019E.
