WOOD’s Universe – ESG: Ready, set, report

In our second annual survey of sustainability reporting, we have collected the data necessary for Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) reporting, specifically the 18 mandatory “adverse sustainability indicators” set out in the draft technical standards, published last spring. The SFDR aims to unify how asset managers present data and limit the greenwashing of financial products, and present the quantitative data points to guide retail investors comparing green funds. 2022 is the first year that managers will have to monitor the so-called principle adverse impacts (from the reported 2021 data); therefore, surveying the availability of this information from corporates in WOOD’s coverage universe, just one year ahead of the deadline, is a worthwhile exercise, in our view.
