Bulls and Bears activity kept roaming at PSX, indices closed in positive directions. Massive decline in the index came
by, but bulls kept trying to close the index in positive. Equity markets around the world showed positive
performance.
- #PSXUpdate - $MCB board of directors approve to conduct due diligence for a potential transaction for
purchase of 55% shares of Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited.
Index Performance
The benchmark KSE 100 index gained 138.14 pts closed at 47,112.92. During the day the index jumped to day high of
47,314.75 with a gain of 339.97 pts 0.72% positive change. The KMI 30 index appreciated by 199.65 pts closing at
76,442.47. While the KSE All Share index was up by 58.97 pts ending at 32,096.21.
Volumes for the day
Overall market volumes declined from 430.34 mn shares in last session to 306.2 mn shares. Telecard Limited (TELE -
0.06%), Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited (BYCO +0.40%) and First National Equities Limited (FNEL +2.44%) led the
volume chart. The scrips had 14.14 mn shares, 19.26 mn shares and 10.8 mn shares traded, respectively.
Contributors to KSE100
Sectors that increased the benchmark KSE 100 index included Technology & Communication Sector (31.33 pts),
Commercial Banks (22.48 pts) and Engineering Sector (20.33 pts). Company-wise, Systems Limited (SYS 19.97 pts),
NESTLE Pakistan Limited (NESTLE 18.02 pts) and Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PAKT 15.23 pts) were top
points contributors.
Selected Sector Performance
The Engineering sector gained 3.28% in its total market capitalization. International Steels Limited (ISL 1.65%),
Mughal Iron and Steel Limited (MUGHAL 5.28%) and Agha Steel Limited (AGHA 7.48%) all closed in green.
