YHSL Market Wrap Report 05-11-2021

The intraday session on Friday showed mixed performance. Indices inched up a bit but volumes declined from the last
close. The equity market around the world showed mixed performance.
- Pakistan accepts costliest-ever LNG cargo amid gas crisis - Pakistan on Saturday accepted an LNG cargo at
the highest-ever price of $30.6 per Million British Thermal Units (MMBtu) from Qatar Petroleum on the
grounds of averting a possible gas crisis in the upcoming peak winter month.
- Pakistan has become a 'food-deficit' country: Tarin - Adviser to the Prime Minister on finance and
revenue Shaukat Tarin has said that Pakistan has become a food-deficit country. Last year alone, it spent
around $10 billion on imports of food and cotton.
Index Performance
The benchmark KSE 100 index gained 76.62 pts closed at 47,295.80. During the day the index jumped to day high of
47,608.46 with a gain of 389.28 pts 0.82% positive change. It then fell to day’s low of 47,184.15 with a loss of 35.05
pts. The KMI 30 index appreciated by 58.32 pts closing at 76,577.44. While KSE All Share index was up by 62.91 pts
ending at 32,256.94.
Volumes for the day
Overall KSE-ALL Share volume declined from 561.9 mn shares in the last session to 469.8 mn shares. Worldcall Telecom
Limited (WTL +1.13%), Ghani Global Holdings Limited (GGL +5.48%), and Telecard Limited (TELE +2.36%) led the
volume chart. The scrips had 41.91 mn shares, 36.44 mn shares, and 24.22 mn shares traded, respectively.
Contributors to KSE100
Sectors that inclined the benchmark KSE 100 index included Commercial Banks (83.34 pts), Cement Sector (44.77
pts) and Fertilizer Sector (12.95 pts). Company-wise, United Bank Limited (UBL 29.67 pts), Habib Bank Limited (HBL
21.96 pts) and MCB Bank Limited (MCB 19.73 pts) were top positive points contributors.
Selected Sector Performance
The Oil and Gas Marketing sector gained 1.04% in its total market capitalization. Pakistan State Oil Limited (PSO
0.54%), Attock Petroleum Limited (APL 0.43%), and Shell Pakistan Limited (SHEL 1.43%) all closed in green
