YHSL Market Wrap Report 06-10-2021

Extending losses from previous session, index closed another session in red. Indices slipped lower and lower for most
part of the day while volumes declined from last close. Equity markets around the world showed mixed trend.
Index Performance
Gaining 128.63 pts the benchmark KSE 100 index touched intraday high of 44,795.20. It then fell to day’s low of
44,284.55 losing 382.02 pts. The index ended lower by 293.34 pts at 44,373.23. The KMI 30 index declined by 438.91
pts closing at 71,425.14. While the KSE All Share index was down by 196.75 pts settling at 30,460.69.
Volumes for the day
Overall market volumes fell from 334.18 mn shares in last session to 252.47 mn shares. Unity Foods Limited (UNITY
0.00%), Telecard Limited (TELE -7.47%) and Worldcall Telecom (WTL -4.95%) led the volume chart. The scrips had
25.70 mn shares, 20.15 mn shares and 16.81 mn shares traded, respectively.
Contributors to KSE100
Sectors dragging the benchmark KSE 100 index lower included Cement sector (88.70 pts), Technology and
Communication sector (36.76 pts) and Banking sector (35.74 pts). Company-wise, Habib Bank Limited (HBL 25.29
pts), Cherat Cement Company Limited (CHCC 22.81 pts) and Lucky Cement Limited (LUCK 21.06 pts) were top
negative points contributors.
Selected Sector Performance
The Refinery sector lost 3.33% from its cumulative market capitalization. Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL 3.48%),
Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL 3.16%), National Refinery Limited (NRL 3.59%) and Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited
(BYCO 3.16%) all closed in red.
