YHSL Market Wrap Report 08-10-2021

After a positive start, KSE-100 failed to hold its ground and closed session in red.
* Indices moved both ways in search of a direction while volumes declined from 111.94 mn shares to 66 mn shares
Equity markets around the world showed positive trend.
Index Performance
During the day, the index managed to gain 84.45 pts touching intraday high of 44,670.50. Failing to hold on to its
ground, the index reached its day’s low of 44,338.17 losing 247.88 pts. It ended lower by 108.82 pts at 44,477.23.
The KMI 30 index fell by 172.32 pts settling at 71,477.37. While the KSE All Share index managed to clench 20.47 pts
closing at 30,599.23.
Volumes for the day
Overall market volumes fell from 295.98 mn shares in last session to 175.63 mn shares. Worldcall Telecom (WTL
0.01%), Telecard Limited (TELE -2.49%) and Silk Bank Limited (SILK +4.61%) were the volume leaders of the day. The
scripts had 18.53 mn shares, 14.15 mn shares and 9.33 mn shares traded, respectively.
Contributors to KSE100
Sectors dragging the benchmark KSE 100 index lower included Cement sector (40.36 pts), Pharmaceutical sector
(14.53 pts) and Refinery sector (7.39 pts). Company-wise, Lucky Cement Limited (LUCK 10.85 pts), Bestway Cement
Limited (BWCL 7.05 pts) and Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC 5.20 pts) were top negative contributors.
Selected Sector Performance
The Refinery sector lost 1.97% in its cumulative market capitalization. Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL 0.46%), Pakistan
Refinery Limited (PRL 1.36%), National Refinery Limited (NRL 2.20%) and Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited (BYCO
2.72%) all closed in red.
