swung in both directions while volumes declined from last session. Equity markets around the globe showed mixed
trend.
Index Performance
During the day, KSE-100 index lost 299.99 pts recording intraday low of 44,599.61. Recovering the index during the
day, touched intraday high of 45,003.26 up by 103.66 pts. It settled low at 44,871.70 lost 27.9 pts. The KMI 30 index
was down by 112.61 pts closing at 72,203.34. While the KSE-All Share index inclined up by 24.69 pts at 30,693.59
Volumes for the day
Overall market volumes fell from 372.3 mn shares in last session to 266.9 mn shares. Highest participation was
witnessed in TPL Corp Limited (TPL +0.25%). Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited (BYCO 0.24%) and Hascol Petroleum
Limited (HASCOL +8.49%). The scripts had 15.3 mn shares, 14.23 mn shares and 14.17 mn shres traded, respectively.
Contributors to KSE100
Sectors dragged the KSE 100 index included Power Sector (-36.95 pts), Oil and Gas Exploration (-22.06 pts) and Food
and Personal Care Sector (-20.06 pts). Company-wise, K-Electric Limited (KEL -41.25 pts), Nestle Pakistan Limited
(NESTLE -22.43 pts) and Lucky Cement Limited (LUCK -13.46 pts) were top negative contributors.
Selected Sector Performance
The Power Generation and Distribution sector lost -3.22% in its cumulative market capitalization. K-Electric Limited
(KEL -9.5%), Nishat Chunian Power Limited (NCPL -2.57%) and Pakgen Power Limited (PKGP -0.62%) all closed in red.
