Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Awards Booz Allen Hamilton a Spot on $120 Million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Contract to Support Innovative Research & Development Programs

The U.S. armed forces have a long and distinguished history of driving innovative research that has transformed both military and civilian life. Since its inception in 1958, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has been at the forefront of strengthening U.S. national security through technological advances. To ensure our troops continue to be equipped with the latest technology needed to combat today’s critical security issues, DARPA’s Defense Sciences Office (DSO) has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton a spot on a $120 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Booz Allen will provide scientific, engineering and technical assistance to support DARPA’s research and development programs.

“Booz Allen has been a trusted partner to DARPA and DSO for more than 25 years,” said Angela Wallace, Booz Allen vice president and leader of the firm’s Engineering team. “In the coming years, we’re going to continue our collaboration with the agency as it works to address a number of evolving trends, such as the rapidly changing nature of warfare and opponent capabilities, the increasing complexity of the systems and systems-of-systems being developed, and the blending of traditional soldiers and tactics with machines and robotics.”

Under the new five-year contract, Booz Allen is going to provide assistance across the full program life cycle, from initial conception through planning to implementation, by delivering technical, programmatic, financial and administrative services. Booz Allen brings a highly qualified and experienced team to this work, including:

  • Technical staff from leading academic institutions with expertise in physics, chemistry, materials, engineering, social sciences and mathematics.
  • Financial managers.
  • Administrative professionals with experience in DARPA policies, procedures and operations.
  • A strong network across relevant user and stakeholder communities.

Booz Allen is well positioned to support DARPA in its critical mission to identify and pursue high-potential, fundamental research initiatives across a broad spectrum of science and engineering disciplines, and to transform these initiatives into game-changing technologies that bolster our national security.
