U.S. Air Force Awards Booz Allen Spot on $998M IDIQ Contract to Bolster the 96th Test Wing’s Test Capabilities

Upholding the United States’ supremacy against adversaries requires adopting new and innovative technologies. The 96th Test Wing (TW) is the U.S. Air Force test and evaluation hub headquartered at Elgin Air Force Base, Florida. The 96TW verifies the performance of air-delivered weapons, navigation and guidance, command and control and Air Force Special Operations Command systems before deploying them on the front lines. To help the military keep pace with the ever-evolving threat landscape, the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) a spot on a $998 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple-award contract to provide technical engineering support to the Test & Evaluation Technologies for Ranges, Armaments & Spectrum (TETRAS) effort.

“As the defense community continues to spearhead next-generation weapons programs, it is critical to identify, and solve potential vulnerabilities in system design during the development phase in order to keep both soldiers and civilians safe,” said Rex Jordan, vice president at Booz Allen. “Backed by our team’s deep technical expertise in engineering and applied science, we look forward to expanding our partnership with the Air Force to establish testing mechanisms that will ensure the tools our soldiers depend on perform seamlessly when unforeseeable events arise that threaten U.S. national security.”

This work builds on Booz Allen’s more than 35 years of supporting the Air Force’s continual transformation. Read more about these efforts, here.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Oversold Bounce Underway Amid Consolidation Phase In last week's Compass (8/22/23) we discussed our expectations for an oversold bounce due to an overwhelming number of indexes/Sectors/industries testing major multi-month supports, combined with Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar (DXY) testing resistance. The bounce has begun with the S&P 500 ending higher last week for the first time in a month, and it is possible we have seen the lows for this pause/pullback. For now, we see a low probabilit...
