First American Ranked Among the 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity by Fortune and Great Place to Work®

First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), a leading global provider of title insurance, settlement services and risk solutions for real estate transactions, announced today that Fortune® and Great Place to Work® have recognized First American as one of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity. The ranking is based upon feedback from 448,456 employees at companies who completed the Trust Index© Employee Survey administered by Great Place to Work®, a global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures

“Our employees and our management team view a diverse employee community as integral to our success. We work hard to be inclusive – to put people first – by providing opportunities for our employees to advance in their careers, regardless of who they are,” said Dennis Gilmore, CEO, First American Financial Corporation. “This helps instill a culture based on integrity, innovation, commitment and teamwork, which is good for our employees, but also benefits our customers and our business results.”

To determine the winners, Great Place to Work analyzed how positively women, minorities, and LGBTQ employees reported experiencing their workplace overall, paying special attention to an index of factors where these employees tend to have a less positive experience than their colleagues. Rankings take into account how favorably women, minorities and LGBTQ employees experience their workplace relative to their male, Caucasian and heterosexual colleagues' experiences. The list also considered the degree of representation women and minorities enjoy within the workforce as a whole, as well as in management and executive roles.

“We congratulate this year’s winners for showing that diverse workplaces are good for all employees,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Bottom line? Our research shows that the most inclusive workplaces enjoy significantly higher revenue growth than less-inclusive workplaces – evidence that these organizations are cultivating the full human potential of all their people.”

Earlier in 2016, Fortune® magazine also recognized First American as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For® in America, one the 2016 Best Workplaces for Women, and in 2015 First American was named by Fortune as one of the 10 Best Workplaces in Insurance. Since 2012, First American has earned recognition as a “best place to work” 38 times in publications across the United States. Internationally, the company’s Canadian subsidiary, FCT, was named by Great Place to Work® as one of that country’s Top 50 Best Workplaces in 2015 and 2016, and a 2016 Best Workplace in Canada for Women.

The Best Workplaces for Diversity is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and Fortune® based entirely upon employee survey feedback. To see the complete list of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity, click here.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Major Low Likely in Place on S&P 500 In our 2/25/25 Compass, we discussed our expectation for near-term downside as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) displayed several bearish short-term developments. We also said it likely means at least another 2-4 weeks of consolidation, that one or two 8-10% pullbacks in a given year on the SPX is common (even during bull markets), and to not be surprised if there is a test of the bottom of the range at either 5770-5850 or 5600-5670, where we would be buyers...
