First American Named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® List for Third Year in a Row

First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), a leading global provider of title insurance, settlement services and risk solutions for real estate transactions, announced today that the company is one of the 2018 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For®, according to Fortune and global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work®. This marks the third consecutive year that First American has earned a place on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list.

“Earning national recognition three years in a row as one of the best companies to work for, more than anything else, reflects the integrity, commitment and teamwork of our people,” said Dennis J. Gilmore, CEO, First American Financial Corporation. “Our commitment to putting people first starts with our employees and extends from there to our customers, our shareholders and the communities in which we work.”

First American was among hundreds of other companies evaluated for placement on the list. The evaluation is based on survey responses from more than 310,000 employees rating their workplace culture on more than 50 elements of the workplace. These include trust in managers, compensation, fairness, camaraderie and workplace traits linked to innovation. The ranking accounted for the experiences of all employees including women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, older team members and disabled employees.

“The 2018 100 Best are true leaders,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “In the face of competition, change and financial constraints, they consistently prioritize building the trust, pride and camaraderie that fuels business performance. And they’re doing it at scale for everyone, regardless of who they are or what they do for the organization.”

In 2017, Fortune® magazine and Great Place to Work recognized First American for the second consecutive year as one of the Best Workplaces for Women and one of the Best Workplaces for Diversity, as well as one of the 40 Best Workplaces in Financial Services. First American has earned recognition as a “best place to work” 54 times in publications across the United States since 2012.

Internationally, the company’s Canadian subsidiary, FCT, was named by Great Place to Work® as one of that country’s Top 50 Best Workplaces for three consecutive years (2015, 2016 and 2017), and a 2017 Best Workplace in Canada for Women, as well as one of the Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance.
