Gap Inc. to Kick Off Seasonal Hiring for the Holidays

Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) today announced plans to hire seasonal associates for its ,, , , and stores, as well as customer contact centers and distribution centers for the 2019 holiday season. The company plans to hire as many as 5,000 associates during the one-day event.

The company will host a single day hiring event in all Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory, Old Navy, Athleta, and Janie and Jack stores, as well as select distribution and customer contact centers across the United States and Canada from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, October 5. Job candidates are encouraged to apply for a position prior to the holiday hiring event through Gap Inc.'s or seasonal hiring career pages.

“Our seasonal associates are critical to our achieving our goal of providing customers a seamless shopping experience during the busiest time of the year, whether online, in stores, contact centers, or distribution centers,” said Michele Nyrop, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, Gap Inc. “We’re committed to creating engaging roles for all our employees and have been fortunate to find incredible seasonal talent, many of whom have stayed on past the holidays and found lasting careers within our brands.”

Store candidates across all brands will be trained on a variety of skills, including using technology in our stores such as mobile point of sale devices and fulfilling Buy Online Pick Up In Store orders for easier inventory management.

Seasonal positions at the distribution and customer contact centers will be on the front lines ensuring a smooth holiday season for our customers. Last year, our distribution center teams helped fulfill over on Black Friday alone, all while working with . In our customer contact centers, teams will interact directly with customers across multiple platforms and deliver on their shopping needs.

All seasonal associates will enjoy the same merchandise discount as the company’s current associates, just in time for holiday gift-giving. Gap Inc.’s employee merchandise discount includes 50 percent off regular-priced merchandise at Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy stores; 30 percent off at Outlet and Factory stores; and 25 percent off at Athleta stores. Additional benefits include wellness events such as flu shots, family support such as back-up child care and access to daycare services, as well as discounts on vision and dental programs.
