Lincoln Financial Group Legal Department Raises $8,000 for National Legal Aid and Defender Association

Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE:LNC) announced today that its Legal Department employees companywide raised over $8,000 for the National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA), America’s oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel. The donation originated from a charitable initiative led by approximately 240 Legal Department employees, who created and published an original cookbook entitled You’ve Been Served, which was then made available in exchange for financial contributions.

“At Lincoln Financial, we have a rich history of giving back to our communities at a corporate level, as well as in our different office locations and business areas,” said Kirkland Hicks, executive vice president and general counsel for Lincoln Financial Group. “In particular, during this magical time of the holiday season, our team wanted to join together in support of an important cause. NLADA serves as a valuable resource to so many, and I am very proud that our project will help further their life-changing work.”

On December 20, 2017, Hicks and several other representatives from Lincoln Financial presented the check to NLADA at its Washington, D.C. headquarters.

“We are grateful to Lincoln Financial Group’s Legal Department for this wonderful support,” said Jo-Ann Wallace, NLADA president and CEO. “Their creativity in championing our mission is inspiring. With passionate and dedicated partners, like Lincoln Financial Group, we can make the promise of equal justice for all a reality. I look forward to our continued collaboration in 2018 and beyond.”

The cookbook, which sold out of all 565 copies in ten days, features original recipes and many have a local flair that aligns to the regions of Lincoln Financial’s key city office locations: Fort Wayne, Ind., Omaha, Neb., Greensboro, N.C., Hartford, Conn., Concord, N.H., and the Philadelphia area.
