Lincoln Financial Group’s Amy Ponticello Receives Rising Star 30 and Under Award from the PR News Group

Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced today that Amy Ponticello, senior communications consultant, was recognized by the PR News Group and received its Rising Stars 30 and Under award, honoring young professionals whose passion and ingenuity are an inspiration in the workplace and in the communications field.

“Amy possesses a unique combination of strategic insight, curiosity, creativity, business savvy, communication skills and the ability to execute — mixed with an amazingly positive attitude and true commitment to nurturing her professional relationships,” said Kristen Phillips, senior vice president of Lincoln Financial’s Corporate Marketing, Communications and Strategy area. “We are very pleased that the PR News Group has recognized Amy with this honor for her achievements and the impact she continues to have on Lincoln’s public relations, social media and communications efforts.”

Ponticello joined Lincoln in 2015 to help increase earned media exposure and social media engagement for Lincoln’s Group Benefits business, which provides benefits such as dental, vision, life, accident and short and long-term disability insurance, to some of America’s largest employers. In addition to the many public relations campaigns designed to highlight the Group Benefits business, Ponticello has led several corporate-wide communications initiatives — most notably, Lincoln’s sponsorship of Jeff Glasbrenner, an American amputee who in 2016 successfully reached his goal to climb Mount Everest. Ponticello led the creation and execution of a comprehensive promotion program, which is entering its second year, and includes multiple waves of news releases, an extensive social media campaign, a custom “blog” on lincolnfinancial.com, a video series and a variety of supporting materials.

“When we brought Amy onboard, we were specifically looking for fresh perspective and some new approaches to PR and social media,” said Elena French, vice president, Communications, for Lincoln. “Amy consistently brings creative and innovative ideas to Lincoln — introducing many ‘firsts’ to our corporate media relations team. We are so proud of Amy. Her approach to planning and execution illustrates strategic savvy and a willingness to take risks and be creative. This award is well-deserved.”

Ponticello was nominated for this award by Lincoln’s Communications leadership team, as part of Lincoln’s commitment to empowering and inspiring employees to achieve extraordinary results and grow professionally.
