Lincoln Financial Network Appoints John Ekman as Divisional Vice President

Lincoln Financial Network (LFN), the retail wealth management affiliate of Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE:LNC), announced today the appointment of John R. Ekman as divisional vice president for Lincoln Financial Advisors for the Midwest market. Reporting to John DiMonda, senior vice president and head of Lincoln Financial Advisors (LFA), Ekman will focus on recruitment efforts and building and developing teams and business practices. He will also oversee advisor relationships and provide specialized support for advisors and planners, ensuring they have access to the breadth of Lincoln’s expertise and resources.

“John is a proven leader in recruitment and successful business development, and I look forward to working with him to strengthen and grow our advisor network and the strategic relationships we can offer our advisors,” said DiMonda. “Our advisors increasingly want access to specialized support and expertise to help them best serve their clients, and with dedicated divisional leadership, we have a strong and focused foundation to provide best-in-class service and support to help meet our advisors’ practice management needs and business growth goals.”

Ekman joins Lincoln with over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, with particular expertise in recruitment, business development, business transformation strategies and territory management. Prior to joining Lincoln, Ekman spent seven years at U.S. Bancorp Investments, most recently as senior vice president and divisional manager of the Metro Midwest division, the largest in USBI’s footprint. In addition to being a top recruiter at USBI, Ekman had additional responsibility for driving growth in sales, revenue and overall market share, as well as leading cultural and business model changes to maximize profit and productivity. Ekman graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and holds Series 3, 7, 8, 24, 63, and 65 registrations and Life and Health Insurance licenses.
