MicroStrategy and Datastrong Host “STEM for Her” Race at Upcoming MicroStrategy World™ User Conference

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of enterprise software platforms, today announced that it will sponsor and host a 5K run in association with Datastrong, a BI and data warehousing solutions provider, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at MicroStrategy’s annual user conference, MicroStrategy World 2017. All proceeds from the event will benefit STEM for Her, a non-profit foundation that supports young women and girls in the Washington, D.C. region who are interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math fields of study.

“Through hands-on training and mentoring programs, we impact the lives of hundreds of young women in the local community,” said Marian McKee, Board Chair, STEM for Her. “When technology organizations, like MicroStrategy and Datastrong, come together and actively support programs that encourage gender diversity, they are 15 percent more likely to outperform their competitors.”

“Datastrong understands that science, technology, engineering, and math are what makes society progress and contribute to improving our future,” said Jacqueline Meriwether, Managing Partner at Datastrong. “Teaming up with STEM for Her provides the community at MicroStrategy World with opportunities to impact the young women and girls that will be the future talent in our technology organizations.”

“According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 1.4 million computer science jobs will be available in America by 2020. At MicroStrategy, we are focused on supporting the young minds who aspire to fill those roles,” said Susan Cook, Executive Vice President of Sales for North America, MicroStrategy Incorporated. “Supporting this locally-based non-profit foundation directly benefits the young women and girls in the Washington, D.C. region who are aiming to hold a STEM-related career.”

The race is also supported by MicroStrategy’s “At The Table,” a cross-functional network for women at MicroStrategy that provides members with opportunities for professional development, networking, and support through learning and social events.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Major Low Likely in Place on S&P 500 In our 2/25/25 Compass, we discussed our expectation for near-term downside as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) displayed several bearish short-term developments. We also said it likely means at least another 2-4 weeks of consolidation, that one or two 8-10% pullbacks in a given year on the SPX is common (even during bull markets), and to not be surprised if there is a test of the bottom of the range at either 5770-5850 or 5600-5670, where we would be buyers...

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

Monitoring Small- vs. Large-Caps and Growth vs. Value Breadth has expanded significantly in recent weeks with the Russell 2000 (IWM) breaking above major 2.5-year resistance at $210; we remain bullish on small-caps and view this is an extremely bullish development for the broad equity market as long as the IWM remains above $210 support. At the same time, Technology/large-cap growth/Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has consolidated after getting extended, and all indications suggest this is a buyable pullback....
