RBI 1-9/2023: Net interest income remains strong, CET1 ratio improve further
  • Profit after tax of EUR 1,186 million in 1-9/2023 excluding Russia and Belarus, up 29% (excluding Bulgaria in 2022)
  • Core revenues excluding Russia and Belarus up 20% year-over-year to EUR 4,430 million, driven by net interest income
  • CET1 ratio at 16.5% (transitional, incl. profit), excluding Russia 14.4%
  • Significantly lower provisioning for impairment losses year-over-year (down EUR 470 million)
  • Customer loans in Russia down EUR 2.7 billion year-to-date, supported by currency devaluation
  • Provisions for CHF mortgages in Poland up EUR 1,338 million

EME Equity Market – May 2025 EME indices mostly in the green in May, apart from Türkiye. The MSCI EM Europe Index added 3.6% mom in EUR and USD terms. The Greek ASE index (+7.8% mom) was the best performer, followed by the Czech PX (+6.6% mom) and Romanian BET indices (+5.0% mom), the Hungarian BUX (+4.0% mom) and the Polish WIG20 (+2.0% mom; all in EUR terms). RBI reported a disappointing operating result in Q1

RBI reported a net profit of EUR 260mn, which means a 14% decrease YoY, due to the lower NII and higher OPEX. RBI confirmed the mgmt. expectations for 2025 and expects to reach 10% ROE ex-Russia even if the Q1 consolidated ROE was only 7.3%.
