Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Selects Tyler Technologies’ Enterprise Resource Planning and Timekeeping Solutions

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) and ExecuTime time and record keeping solutions. The two solutions will replace the city’s current core financial, purchasing, fixed asset, inventory, human resources and payroll systems.

Baton Rouge’s current ERP system is a legacy system, which has been in place since 1994. With 52,000 vendor checks and 115,500 payroll checks issued annually, the city sought an efficient, PCI-compliant system capable of processing a large number of documents. Baton Rouge selected Tyler over a dozen vendors after a competitive review that included several product demonstrations, reference checks and client site visits.

According to city officials, Baton Rouge was confident in Tyler’s Munis ERP and ExecuTime solutions because the company is solely focused on the public sector. Tyler is also extremely strong in financial modules, which Baton Rouge believes are the backbone of any ERP solution. For these reasons, the city felt that Tyler’s solutions best met the needs of the city.

Tyler’s Munis ERP and ExecuTime solutions have simple and intuitive graphical user interfaces that will enable all departments to easily manage the appropriate city resources. Not only will they replace core business systems, but they will also encourage new process development and extend system use to each city department. Additionally, Tyler’s solutions will replace paper-oriented processes by using e-forms and document imaging to help streamline workflows.

Baton Rouge is Louisiana’s capital and the state’s second largest city with approximately 500,000 residents.

ExecuTime’s time and record keeping solution became part of Tyler’s ERP product suite via Tyler’s acquisition of ExecuTime Software in June 2016.
