City of Arlington, Texas, Selects Brazos Solution from Tyler Technologies

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) signed an agreement with the city of Arlington, Texas, for Tyler’s Brazos, an e-citation software solution that can be used for a number of applications for public safety agencies such as traffic and parking citations and warnings, accident reporting, towed-vehicle reports, field interviews, and code enforcement.

The city of Arlington’s current solution featured the ticket writer and printer in one all-inclusive system. The downside to this integrated solution was that if one piece malfunctioned, the entire solution stopped working. The city had to either upgrade its existing solution or choose a newer, more efficient one.

The city of Arlington was familiar with Tyler, having used its Incode® financial management solution in its municipal court for several years, plus Tyler’s New Worldpublic safety solution, including its records management suite. After a demonstration of how Brazos would seamlessly interface with Incode and New World, the city selected it as their new e-citation solution.

Brazos will improve efficiencies by making the city’s current forms electronic and enable officers to quickly collect data and share the information to Incode and New World. This will reduce manual entry and improve accuracy for city staff. The city will also implement Brazos’ message switch, which means officers can obtain information on items such as warrants while in the field.

Brazos has a strong presence in Texas and is used by more than 300 police and sheriff departments in the state. The city of Arlington has a population of nearly 400,000, making it the third-largest municipality in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
