Tyler Technologies to Provide Odyssey Solution to the Northern Territory of Australia

Tyler Technologies Australia PTY LTD, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL), signed an agreement with the Northern Territory Department of the Attorney-General and Justice (NTAGD) for Tyler’s Odyssey® solution to manage all case types in Australia’s Northern Territory. The solution will be implemented throughout all court levels and locations across the Territory, as well as the Northern Territory Civil Administrative Tribunal (NTCAT). This initiative includes several components of Odyssey’s software suite, including Case Manager, File & Serve, Guide & File, Financial Manager, Public Access, and Judge Edition.

In March of 2016, the NTAGD released a tender to the business community seeking a single case management solution to meet the needs of all court levels as well as its civil administrative tribunals; NTCAT. After a thorough evaluation process, the NTAGD accepted Tyler’s proposal for the implementation of the Odyssey solution. Tyler’s Odyssey suite will work across all of the Territory’s courts and tribunals and will serve as the hub for all courts to share and manage sensitive data. With all courts using one solution, Tyler can help the NTAGD further improve workflows and more effectively and efficiently serve justice to all Territorians. Additionally, Odyssey Guide & File will make it easier for litigants to generate and e-file their own legal documents, improving access to justice and making courts more user-friendly.

To complete the implementation of Odyssey, Tyler is in the process of relocating additional employees to Australia and will also partner with NEC Australia to provide local technology services for the project’s duration. This allows Tyler to focus on knowledge transfer while also building local expertise through its partnership with NEC.

“This agreement represents the first international contract for our Courts & Justice Division, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the Odyssey solution to the Northern Territory and the continent of Australia,” said Jeff Puckett, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “We have invested to ensure that our solutions are compliant with international justice requirements and we are honored to serve the citizens of the Top End of Australia.”

In addition to its new presence in Australia, Odyssey also serves more than 100 million residents, a third of the U.S. population, in more than 900 counties across 23 states. With more than 550 full-time employees dedicated to courts and justice solutions, Tyler has the capability to manage dozens of Odyssey client implementations concurrently.
