Telechips, multimedia fabless semiconductor company, announced that it has been certified for Dolby Vision™ HDR (High Dynamic Range), based on Alligator (Code name: SMP898x), latest UHD STB SoC (System On a Chip) launched by Telechips.
Dolby Vision delivers a dramatic visual experience, astonishing brightness, incomparable contrast, and captivating color which bring entertainment to life via OTT online streaming, broadcast, and gaming applications. Dolby Vision achieves this stunning image quality by leveraging breakthrough high dynamic range (HDR) and wide color-gamut imaging technologies, both on the screen and in specially mastered content. Thus, Dolby Vision enabled devices deliver images with much greater brightness, and provide much deeper, more nuanced and detailed darks, while rendering a fuller palette of rich new colors never before seen on the screen.
With this, Telechips supports all existing major HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and HLG, which allows operators a variety of HDR implementation options when adopting this chipset.
