A good start ...

STAR Assurance’s first quarter figures show a promising year for 2016. Sales (Written Premiums) increased by 3.8% to TND112.768m: this increase stemmed especially from the non-life business, where sales rose by2.7% to TND107.265m. Meanwhile, the Life business increased to TND2.532m (+78%). STAR’s retention rate has improved by 53 bps to 83.93%, which is explained by the fall of the ceded premium by 22.2% to TND18.122m. Overall, the Net Written Premiums augmented by 10.8% to TND94.114m: this is explained by the progress of the Life business on the one hand (+78%), and the improvement of the Non-Life business on the other hand (+9.7%).
