Q4 2016 released figures show an increase in net written premiums of 10.1%, to TND295.5m in 2016, with a retention rate of 89.3% for both activities. STAR Assurance’s first quarter figures show a promising year for 2016. Sales (Written Premiums) increased by 3.8% to TND112.768m: this increase stemmed especially from the non-life business, where sales rose by2.7% to TND107.265m. Meanwhile, the Life business increased to TND2.532m (+78%). STAR’s retention rate has improved by 53 bps to 83.93%, which is explained by the fall of the ceded premium by 22.2% to TND18.122m. Non-life business: modest growth in Q4

STAR’s Q4 2015 net written premiums increased by 6.39% to TND59.103M. This rise comes especially from the Life branch as sales improved by 27.33% to TND2.073M, against the stagnation of the Non-Life business at TND57.030M (growth rate of 5.76%). Concerning FY 15 figures, we can still observe the opposite; the Life net premiums dropped by 29.4% to TND6.627M. While the Non-Life net revenues improved by 7.9% to TND261.741M. STAR’s retention rate has worsened by 34 bps to 86.72%.
