CAPT: Kicking Off a 60,000m Drill Program at Cruz de Plata
What you need to know:
• CAPT announced it has commenced a 60,000m multi-drill program for 2026 at the Cruz de Plata Project, which is 400% larger than the 2025 program and will consist of both RC and core drilling.
• The program is designed to aggressively develop this prospective asset with the goal of growing Cruz de Plata into a project like that of large development peers like Vizsla Silver, which we see analogues to.
This morning, Capitan Silver (CAPT:TSXV) announced it is commencing a 60,000m multi-drill program in 2026, which will consist of both RC and core drilling. The program will start out with the one RC drill currently on site, and ramp up to a total of four drills, with the addition of three core drills.
The program marks a 400% increase from the 15,000m program announced in 2025 as CAPT looks to test numerous high-priority targets on the property. Targets will include expanding silver zones on the 3.7km Jesus Maria Silver Trend (Gully Fault and Peñoles Fault targets), testing new high-grade targets (Casco Norte, La Purisima, and Jesus Maria Northwest), and further infilling Capitan Hill to upgrade the Inferred resource. We are maintaining our BUY rating and target price of $3.50/share on Capitan Silver.
On the Jesus Maria Silver Trend, core drilling will focus on extensions down-dip and along strike, while further defining high-grade zones along the trend. Amongst the new targets, the Company plans to complete first-pass RC drilling at shallow depths to further define the early-stage potential. While at Capitan Hill, core drilling will focus on converting the Inferred resource reported in December into M&I. In addition, CAPT plans to conduct first-pass RC drilling on the La Providencia and El Tubo gold opportunities. On top of the extensive drilling planned for 2026, early-stage exploration plans are in place, which will include mapping the land package and trenching new targets, with results from a property-wide geophysical survey anticipated in H1.
