Based in the company’s Livermore, California office, Gauder replaces Hank Fore who, in April, retired after 14 years with Comcast. Gauder has more than 33 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has been with Comcast for 14 years. Prior to becoming the leader of Comcast’s California Region, he was the Vice President of Technical Operations there, responsible for 2,500 employees who lead the company in performance and service improvements.

“California is a large and strategically important region for Comcast Cable and I’m delighted to be the team’s new leader,” said John Gauder, Regional Vice President, Comcast California. “During my past year with Comcast in the area, I’ve learned a great deal about the uniqueness of California and the diversity of the Golden State’s residents, culture and employees. I’m excited to continue the great work we have underway in enhancing the customer experience journey, delivering best-in-class products and services and sharing the company’s commitment to investing in the communities where we work and live.”

Before moving to California, Gauder was the Regional Vice President of Technical Operations in Washington State where he led the technical and communications operations teams. He also led similar teams in Tennessee where he was the Area Vice President.

“Leading the California team takes qualities such as passion, teamwork, open communication, honesty, a strong work ethic and a connection to employees at all levels,” said White. “I’ve worked with John for more than 20 years, and I know that his leadership style embodies those qualities and more. Throughout John’s career, I’ve admired his focus on developing the next generation of leaders through mentorship and coaching.”

Gauder holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. He completed the Comcast Executive Leadership Forum (ELF) and is certified from the Dartmouth, Tuck School of Business. Gauder is an active member of Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).
