“Our product offerings are best-in-class,” said Comcast’s Regional Senior Vice-President, Rodrigo Lopez. “We recognize that customers aren’t aware of all their capabilities. Our new Saturday clinics will give customers the opportunity to ask questions and let our in-store experts demonstrate the exciting features and functions customers may not have experienced yet.”

Customers are invited to visit the stores, enjoy free snacks and beverages, and to learn how to get the most out of their entertainment. Kristeen Cominiello, Comcast’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, said the Saturday clinics arose from customer feedback. “Customer surveys show that people love the technology, but are unaware of all they can do with Xfinity products. We want to teach them how to take full advantage of the technology that’s built into X1, like watching their content on any device, anywhere, or how to connect to your home and family while you’re away.”

The Saturday workshops are another component of Comcast’s larger transformation to ensure each customer has an exceptional experience from the moment they order new service and through installation, to their interactions with Comcast in person, online, or over the phone. To accomplish this, Comcast made incremental investments of $300 million in 2016, focusing on opening new customer support centers, hiring more customer service employees, redesigning all Xfinity stores, and being on time for every appointment.

Broadband cNPS comparisons by tech & operator - The latest data availa...

Scouring the data in this report, we’d point you to the appendix for a quick review. What stands out is that when a broadband customer interacts with a sales rep, presumably they are doing so with a problem or request that an automated or AI-driven IVR cannot address. Almost without fail, sales rep interactions are the Achilles heal of the market right now and likely a core reason, care scores suffer. The operator that can solve this puzzle, and it could be cable, has a window to shift their rel...
