Gap Inc. and Gap Foundation Give $1 Million to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, together, Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS) and Gap Foundation have committed $1 million to address immediate needs and ongoing recovery efforts. The donation includes a cash grant from Gap Foundation, donations from Gap Inc. brands towards critical clothing needs identified by on-the-ground relief organizations, and employee-matched donations.

The company is committed to helping communities rebuild both in the near-term and providing support that addresses longer term recovery efforts. A first shipment of donated product – including essential items such as socks, underwear and tee-shirts for adults and children -- was sent from the company’s distribution center in Gallatin, Tennessee on Friday, September 1. So far, Gap Inc. employees have raised $50,000 in employee-matched funds for relief efforts.

Over 2,600 Gap Inc. employees in the Houston area work in Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta and Intermix stores impacted by the storm, and the company is working with affected employees to provide direct support. Several stores in the Houston area remain closed due to conditions in the surrounding area.

As relief efforts continue, Gap Inc. is prepared to engage in the long-term recovery efforts, including identifying further in-kind donations and other forms of support.

Vermilion Compass: Weekly Equity Strategy

U.S. Dollar (DXY) Violating YTD Uptrend Signs continue to point to the formation of a new uptrend on the S&P 500, something we have discussed as our expectation on a weekly basis since late-April (4/30/24 Compass). Shorterterm, both the S&P 500 and Russell 2000 are trading/consolidating within 1.5-2 week bull flag patterns, and we are on the lookout for upside breakouts due to ongoing healthy market dynamics. Our bullish outlook (since early-November 2023) remains intact. • S&P 500, Russell 2000...
