Gary Schmidt, Ph.D. Joins Korn Ferry Hay Group as Senior Client Partner

Korn Ferry (NYSE:KFY) today announced that Gary Schmidt, Ph.D. has joined the firm as Senior Client Partner. He will be based in Korn Ferry’s Singapore office. Dr. Schmidt’s focus will be on helping clients drive their talent strategy through leadership development, strategic talent management, senior executive assessment and coaching services.

A widely regarded partner and advisor for organizations that face global talent and leadership challenges, Dr. Schmidt brings to the firm 30 years of leadership consulting experience with deep expertise in his focus areas, as well as in assessment center design, employee engagement and succession planning.

Throughout his career, Dr. Schmidt has held various leadership roles at major global leadership consulting organizations in the United States, China and the Southeast Asia region. He has worked across industries and functions including pharmaceuticals, financial services, technology, sales, transportation, hospitality, FMCG and specialty chemicals. Earlier in his career, Dr. Schmidt worked at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, where he was the Executive Director for Global Talent Management.

Dr. Schmidt holds a Ph.D. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Tulane University, a M.B.A (with honors) from the Stern Business School executive program at New York University and a B.A in Psychology from the University of Iowa. He is also a member of the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychologists, the Society for Psychologists in Management, and the American Psychological Association.
