Global Financial Services Leader Philippe De Backer Joins Korn Ferry Hay Group

Korn Ferry (NYSE:KFY) today announced that financial services veteran Philippe De Backer has joined the firm as a Senior Client Partner. He will be based in the firm’s Dubai office, while serving clients globally.

A prominent leader in global corporate strategy consulting, Mr. De Backer brings to the firm more than 20 years of expertise in financial services, insurance and capital markets. His areas of focus range from corporate strategy, business unit strategy, growth strategy and operations improvement to organizational structure.

Mr. De Backer joins Korn Ferry from Bain & Company, where he most recently served as Partner Advisor to the Global Financial Services practice, overseeing intellectual capital and senior talent development. Mr. De Backer also led various international efforts while at the firm, including establishing and co-leading the Global Financial Services practice, opening both the Brussels and Amsterdam offices and developing the firm’s presence in Paris.

Previously, Mr. De Backer was Worldwide Managing Partner of the former Carre, Orban & Partners, and before that, CEO of the advanced electronics company, Siemens (ADB). He has been based out of the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Holland and France.

Mr. De Backer is a prolific author and speaker on global management strategy. He holds a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
