Lincoln Financial Group Names Kristen Phillips Head of Corporate Marketing and Enterprise Communications

Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced today that Kristen Phillips has been appointed head of Corporate Marketing and Enterprise Communications, reporting to Lisa Buckingham, chief human resources officer for Lincoln Financial. In her new position, Phillips is responsible for Brand, Advertising and Corporate Communications, in addition to her current Marketing and Strategy responsibilities supporting the Insurance and Retirement Solutions business.

Phillips joined Lincoln Financial in 2002 and initially served as vice president of Strategy and Business Development. During her six-year tenure, she held various leadership roles supporting the company’s Life Insurance and Annuities businesses. Phillips left the organization in 2008 to join the Hartford Symphony Orchestra as president and CEO.

She returned to Lincoln Financial in 2011 as senior vice president of Marketing and Strategy for Insurance and Retirement Solutions. Phillips continues in that role today, and her responsibilities include leading Business Line Communications, Consumer Research, Strategy, Product Compliance and State Filing for the Individual Life Insurance, Group Protection and Retirement Plan Services business lines.

Prior to joining Lincoln Financial in 2002, Phillips served in a range of Management Consulting, Information Technology and Training roles at American International Group, Inc. (AIG).

Phillips earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. She is a registered principal with Series 6 and Series 26 Licenses, and she also completed LOMA’s Fellow, Life Management Institute program.
