CPI - February CPI – Underlying Inertia Remains Strong

February inflation was 4.4%, down 0.3pps from a month earlier. Core inflation rose slightly to 4.1% from 4.0% in January.

The headline inflation fell mainly as core prices hover at around 4%.The headline rate dropped chiefly on fuel prices (statistical base effect), while the processed food prices rose modestly as a second round response to raw food (pork) inflation in previous months.
