Assa Abloy (Buy, TP: SEK315.00) - A ‘win-win’ and sector top pick

We view the court ruling on Assa Abloy’s proposed acquisition of HHI in Q2e as a ‘win-win’ that offers 5–10% possible upside to the shares if the deal is approved and 10–20% if it is blocked. Our deep dive suggests as little as 5% of Assa Abloy’s EBIT stems from new residential construction; thus, slowdown concerns seem overdone. It is our sector top pick and has the most defensive profile in the Swedish industrial sector, yet it is trading at a decade-low relative valuation. We reiterate our BUY and have raised our target price to SEK315 (305).
