Elkem (Buy, TP: NOK23.00) - Tough near-term outlook

Elkem’s Q2 earnings missed consensus, despite a solid operating performance. With much-reduced market demand, underlying EBITDA came in somewhat below market expectations. Management lowered expectations for Q3, giving a somewhat downbeat outlook, and highlighted uncertainty in demand. This contributed to the shares trading down 9% following the results. We have reduced our 2021–2022e EBITDA by 3–4%, and trimmed our target price to NOK23 (24). However, trading at a 2021e EV/EBITDA of 6x, we find the valuation attractive and reiterate our BUY.
