Lundbeck (Buy, TP: DKK330.00) - Pipeline failures
Friday was a bad day for Lundbeck’s pipeline, as foliglurax (Parkinson’s disease) and Lu AG06466 (Tourette syndrome in adults) both failed to meet their primary endpoints. The foliglurax failure has triggered a EUR100m write-down and a similar reduction in the 2020 reported EBIT guidance, but there was no further lowering of the guidance related to Covid-19, which we consider positive. The share price has dropped 36% since 5 February on Covid-19 fears.H. Lundbeck develops, produces and markets drugs for treating diseases of the central nervous system. Products include antidepressants for the treatment of depression, panic disorder, and prevention of relapse/recurrence. Antipsychotic products for psychotic disorders; schizophrenia, anxiety, restlessness and insomnia; treatment of psychotic disorders; acute psychotic episodes, exacerbation of psychotic disorders. Co.'s products inclue Cipralex®/Lexapro® for the treatment of depression and anxiety; Ebixa® for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease; Azilect® for the treatment of Parkinson's disease; Xenazine®, Sabril®, Saphris® Sycrest®, Onfi, and other.
