Nokian Tyres (Buy, TP: EUR30.00) - Beast of burden
For the second time this this year, on Tuesday Nokian Tyres lowered its 2019 guidance, in this instance as a result of weaker car and tyre markets. We believe the move indicates that Q3 was exceptionally weak, and we now expect EUR60m EBIT for the quarter (down 30% YOY and 25% below consensus). We have cut our 2019–2021 EBIT by an average of 9% and lowered our target price to EUR30 (32); however, given the potential upside, we reiterate our BUY.Nokian Tyres is a tyre manufacturer. Co. mainly sells its products in the aftermarket. Co. and its subsidiaries include the Vianor tyre retail chain, which provides wholesale and retail services in Co.'s primary markets. The core business units in Co. and its subsidiaries are Passenger Car Tyres, which develops, manufactures, and markets summer and winter tyres for passenger cars and delivery trucks as well as SUVs; Heavy Tyres, which focuses on special tyres; as well as Vianor, which provides tyres for all vehicles: passenger cars, vans, trucks, and heavy machinery. In addition to Nokian-branded tyres, the Vianor tyre retail chain sells other tyre brands and a variety of motoring products.
