Nokian Tyres (Buy, TP: EUR32.00) - Pricing study update and Q3e view
Our proprietary study shows that Nokian Tyres had flat selling prices YOY in Q3 in Russia, while the Q&A call further clouded the outlook for the quarter. Uncertainty has increased in Russia and the company is unable to offset increasing raw material costs. Sell-in may also be delayed from Q3 to Q4 as distributors are unable to take on more inventory. We have lowered our 2019–2021e EBIT by 2–3% and are now 5% below consensus on Q3e EBIT. We have lowered our target price to EUR32 (33) and reiterate BUY.Nokian Tyres is a tyre manufacturer. Co. mainly sells its products in the aftermarket. Co. and its subsidiaries include the Vianor tyre retail chain, which provides wholesale and retail services in Co.'s primary markets. The core business units in Co. and its subsidiaries are Passenger Car Tyres, which develops, manufactures, and markets summer and winter tyres for passenger cars and delivery trucks as well as SUVs; Heavy Tyres, which focuses on special tyres; as well as Vianor, which provides tyres for all vehicles: passenger cars, vans, trucks, and heavy machinery. In addition to Nokian-branded tyres, the Vianor tyre retail chain sells other tyre brands and a variety of motoring products.
