SEB (Hold, TP: SEK115.00) - Rate-hike benefit established

The Q2 report confirmed the substantial benefit to SEB from higher rates, which contributed to a 10% QOQ NII increase. While we expect the good NII trend to be sustained, SEB’s cyclical commissions should decline in the next few quarters, which coupled with rather high cost growth should prevent it from lifting its ROE towards the targeted 15%. We have raised our 2023–2024e EPS by 3–5% and reiterate our HOLD.
