UPM (Buy, TP: EUR28.00) - Earnings beat; little demand visibility

Q3 revenues were 4% below consensus, but comparable EBIT was 15% higher due to a combination of factors, including better profitability in Communication Papers, and good cost control across the divisions. UPM reiterated its outlook, and said Covid-19 continues to limit demand visibility. Nevertheless, we found Communication Papers’ performance and management comments about a pick-up in activity in China’s paper market encouraging. Having made only minor changes to our forecasts, we reiterate our BUY while we have trimmed our target price to EUR28 (28.5).
