XXL (Hold, TP: NOK24.00) - Covid-19 hampers strong winter
XXL just announced that it will temporarily close down half of its stores in Norway until mid-April following the pandemic restrictions imposed in the greater Oslo area and Viken. This represents c50% of sales in Norway and 20% of the Group. We expect consensus’ 2021e EPS to drop 10–15% following the news as we do not expect its online store to fully offset the negative sales effect of closed stores. However, the lockdown comes at the end of a strong winter season, which should be positive from an inventory perspective.XXL ASA, formerly known as Megasport AS, is a Norway-based retailer of sporting goods. The Company offers a portfolio of products including clothing, shoes, bicycles, wilderness products, sports equipment, training supplies and equipment, lifestyle and wellbeing products, fishing and hunting equipment, dog toys and accessories, riding clothing and accessories, as well as clothing, equipment and accessories for winter sports. Additionally, it offers services such as bike repair and maintenance, hunting excursion and courses, fishing trips, riding holidays, and dog training. The Company operates via around 40 stores, primarily in Norway but also in Sweden and Finland, and via an e-commerce platform.
