Ekopak Acquiring GWE Group

This morning Ekopak announced the acquisition of the Belgian Bruges based company Global Water & Energy (GWE). In 2022 GWE realised turnover of €30m and realised an EBITDA of €6m. As of today GWE will be part of the consolidation scope. Financing will be done through own funds and bank financing. At first glance revenue synergy potential seems very attractive due to complementarities in terms of product/technology, geographical exposure & industry segments.

Ekopak Delivery Waterkracht permit and Dutch wastewater plant acquisition

Yesterday evening an article was published in the local Antwerp newspaper GVA. It stated Flemish Minister of the Environment Jo Brouns (CD&V) has granted a permit for the Waterkracht project. As a result, all chemical companies in the Port of Antwerp will use purified wastewater to cool their production processes starting at the end of 2027. Earlier on the target was to start commercial operations early 2027 and this is still reflected in our earnings model. Ekopak Partnership with unnamed infrastructure partner for WaaS developments

Ekopak just announced a long term strategic partnership with an unnamed European infrastructure partner for the development of (large) WaaS projects. Many details are still unknown and management was not (yet) available for comments. Yesterday, Montea reported results that had an initial negative market reaction. After the call, the management and chairman Dirk De Pauw were available for a sit-down lunch to give more colour. The Q&A session centered on the pace of the development pipeline. Montea removed its project table as it believes it hurts their negotiating capacity. Now, it just reports an expected GLA of 236k sqm that will be completed over the next 2 years.
