Floridienne FIRST LOOK - Creating a world leader in IPM and pollination
Floridienne announced that its subsidiary Biobest , a world leader in pollination and integrated pest management (IPM), will acquire Brazilian Biotrop from Aqua Capital and GIC investment funds. This large-scale transaction gives Biobest a significant position in South America and allows it to expand its range of biological solutions, which will now include biocontrol (beneficial insects and biopesticides), inoculants, biostimulants and pollination for both greenhouse crops, Biobest's traditional activity, and open-field crops.It will strengthen Biobest's position as a world leader in the field of IPM and pollination, which has a bright future. It is in line with Floridienne's strategy of creating an industrial player in Belgium that is part of the transition to a sustainable economy. No impact on our Floridienne's NAV (€ 983.8) as we were already using the applied Biobest's pe-money valuation of € 1.1bn. Accumulate and € 900 TP maintained.
Floridienne SA is a Belgium-based company engaged in the chemicals, gourmet food and life sciences sectors. The Chemicals division is engaged in two areas: additives for plastics used for stabilizing Polyvinyl Chloride and fireproofing plastics, as well as the recycling of nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal hydride and lithium-ion batteries. The Life Sciences division is active in the production and marketing of natural technologies and products that offer green and sustainable alternatives in agriculture, hygiene products and healthcare, among others. The Life Sciences division also provides plant proteases and integrated pest management. The Gourmet Food division is engaged in the production and marketing of party and gourmet food products such as snails, scallops, stuffed shellfish, smoked salmon, seafood salads, aperitif snacks and ethnic dishes.
