Onward Medical FIRST LOOK: MJ Fox and US DoD back further development in Parkinson's

Onward received grants from the Michael J. Fox Foundation ($1m) and the US Department of Defense ($1.5m) to study its ARC-IM system in Parkinson's disease. With these grants, the company aims to set up clinical feasibility studies to assess both mobility (n=56) and blood pressure instability (n=5) in Parkinson's patients. The move into Parkinson's follows an earlier case study, and could become a second pillar for Onward if positive results can be confirmed. € 10.4 TP and Buy rating reiterated.

Onward announces enrolment of the first participant in the Empower BP trial. The trial evaluates the ARC-IM system to address blood pressure instability in SCI patients. We note that Onward plans an interim analysis of the efficacy results in 2H26, which could accelerate timelines if fewer total patients are required. Short-term, we look forward to the FY25 results to gain a view on the ARC-EX commercial launch (9M25: 70 devices sold). We reiterate our € 8.9 TP and BUY rating.

After revising our estimates post FY25 results we lower our estimates. For 2026 we lower our revenue estimates as we expect lower organic growth, lower acquisitional growth and more FX headwinds. The impact on the gross profit margin is modest while we anticipate more pressure on the EBITA margins. However, we see significant upside as the current valuation is based on compressed estimates and multiples. Our DCF valuation and multiple approach result in a fair value of € 15 per share. Therefore, we reiterate our Buy rating.
