Moody's Ratings affirms Public Bank's A3 ratings; outlook stable
Moody's Ratings (Moody's) has affirmed Public Bank Berhad's A3 long-term domestic and foreign currency deposit ratings. At the same time, we have affirmed the bank's A2 long-term domestic and foreign currency Counterparty Risk Ratings (CRRs), A2(cr) long-term Counterparty Risk (CR) Assessment, P-1...Public Bank is principally engaged in commercial banking and the provision of related financial services. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is engaged in the commercial banking, investment banking, financing and Islamic banking business, stock-broking, provision of related financial services, management of unit trust funds and sale of trust units, underwriting of general insurance, and investment holding. Co.'s segments include: hire purchase; retail operations; corporate lending; treasury and capital market operations; investment banking; fund management; and others. As of Dec. 31, 2011, Co. had total assets of RM249.41 billion and total deposits of RM200.37 billion.
