Agnico-Eagle on Track to Achieve 2 Million-Ounce Production Target by 2020
Third quarter production of 421,718 ounces at all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of $848 per ounce brought Agnico-Eagle’s performance back on track after an underwhelming second quarter. After a solid third quarter and a more promising outlook at the Nunavut development projects, the company slightly raised 2018 production guidance to 1.6 million ounces and expects to hit the lower half of its previous AISC guidance of $890 to $940 per ounce. The remainder of revenue and cash flow is generated by the production and sale of byproduct metals. The revenue from byproduct metals is mainly generated by production at the LaRonde mine in Canada (silver, zinc, copper and lead) and the Pinos Altos mine in Mexico (silver).
