Narrow moat-rated Alliance Data Systems had a disappointing second quarter. The company generated sales of $1.8 billion, falling slightly behind the growth we anticipate for 2017. In addition, the company reported GAAP earnings of $2.47 per share. Revenue in its LoyaltyOne segment fell more than 20% year over year. Even more surprising is this had nothing to do with the embattled Canadian AirMiles business.
