Strong 1H Result from China Telecom with Mobile Outshining Fixed Broadband
China Telecom’s first-half 2017 result was strong with services revenue up 6.8% and EBITDA up 3.7%. Mobile services revenue growth of 12.2% was a highlight compared with peers' 5%-6% growth, but like China Unicom, it is feeling the pressure in the fixed broadband market from China Mobile’s assault.
