Despite Most Recent Fine Against Qualcomm, We Think Firm Will Be More Than Fine Once NXP Deal Closes

On Jan. 24, the European Commission levied a EUR 997.4 million (approximately $1.23 billion) fine against Qualcomm for its agreement with Apple concerning the pricing of modem chips. Specifically, the firm paid Apple to use its baseband processors exclusively in the latter’s devices.
